Due to the rise in general tourism in Morocco over the last twenty years, companies began to cater for tourists who did not want to be restricted to the "markets" and as a result, high quality and professionally designed golf courses have been built as part of Morocco property developments and also as independent clubs. These courses have become very popular with players who have used the Portuguese Algarve in the past as the climate is similar and in general, less expensive.
